Purpose of the Scheme

The Purple Building Certification Scheme (PBCS) evaluates and certifies buildings based on measurable accessibility and universal design principles to ensure infrastructure is inclusive, safe, and usable by all individuals, including people with disabilities and elderly people.

Scope of Certification

  • Assessment of external and internal accessibility features.
  • Evaluation of ramps, lifts, corridors, parking, pathways, and emergency exits.
  • Verification of accessible sanitation facilities and signage systems.
  • Review in compliance with NBC 2016, RPwD Act 2016, and ISO 21542.
